One afternoon while down at the Junction, I discovered there was a theme of “Flow Arts” – I had never heard this term before, but everywhere I looked there were people with hula hoops, and people juggling and and balancing on structures in the backyard.  I was lucky enough to convince a couple of these people – a hooper and a poi/mixed prop performer – to come chat with me about their respective arts.  What followed was a fascinating insight into this up-and-coming movement.  “Flow Artists”  is a general term used to describe the intersection of a variety of movement-based disciplines including dance, juggling, hooping, fire-spinning, and object manipulation.
